lyrics

Well, the moon was high and a clear sky is always right
If you’re going to have a meaning then you’ve got to do it right
Constellations stay constant and you know they make you think
Is there any kind of order or did we evolve to become extinct
I once lived under water now I forget the smell of rain
As life’s getting longer I’m becoming much more sane
I need to see more perspectives of this multi viewed world
So I can formulate my precious piece of sand into a pearl
It’s a bu-bumpy road and there’s no telling where it will lead
I’ve got the north star wiggling its way up my sleeve
How can things get old, stale boring and unexciting
When this day has never happened, I’ve never written what I’m writing
Got to appreciate this new moment in the light
Examining these thoughts dripping into my sight
I’m only human trying to achieve a higher sense of enlightenment
This existence is expensive and I’m paying spiritual rent
Just like you know you’ll get wet if you dance in the rain
If you fall in love in could lead to pain
But if you find balance with your inner beauty and outer beast
Only then can civilization and nature make peace
I was rolling with the river, and I was falling with the rain
You know the river’s rising while it’s carving new terrain
Sediment flowing to the ocean from the highest mountain peaks
Existence is a puzzle, my experience jus a piece.
I need the sun to process the darkness to create a future from my past through my song
so we can get on

Changing season’s bringing about a lot of shit to be thinking about
Got my head up in the clouds trying to figure the weather out
I need to be allowed to run around and say what I think out loud
I need as much time alone as I do in front of a crowd
I need to stay in the here and now and help others do the same
But how can I be setting clocks if I have no timeframe
I think I’d make an impact if the bomb could reach my brain
I’m trying to shake the picture right out of the picture frame
Don’t know what the people say, but I’m conversating with the river and stars
Having a drink with the patrons down at the gravel bar
When I’m stumbling home luckily I needn’t stumble far
Hopefully toward the tent not the Catfish and Gar
I’m sittin on a log, playing for frogs, owls and armadillos
Joined by the Cicadas up in the weeping willows
Sitting by the fire, watching smoke billow
Looking at the stars, rocks are my pillows
I need the moon to process the day to create my future from my past through my song
So we can get on

Changing thoughts bringing about a lot of shit talk out loud
Another summer down and the movement still hasn’t moved out
Storms been hanging around, I’ve been chasing it from the ground
But this lightening has no flash or sound, how can that be allowed
Driving that snowplow pushing the powder off the trails
Before the end of the line I knew I’d done enough rails
Wanted to be a bird but I ended up a snail
Feeling like a hammer in motion never to touch a nail
But then I set sail
Climb a mountain or a tree
Leave behind heavy greed, taking only what you need
Gotta like the motto, “be all that you can be”
I’m not a militant, I plant seeds.
I need the sun to photosynthesis to create a flower for our species to grow strong!

I need the sun, I need the moon
